Hi Joel, I'm no expert, but you've got a *good thing* with the RIS 1.0 brick. Not sure about the expense of upgrading to v2.0, or if it's worth it unless (even if?) you've got a USB port, but the 1.0 brick is generally admired for its AC converter (...) I have an RIS 1.0 w/1.5 upgrade that I am thinking about selling. I know that RIS 2.0 has recently been released, so I was wondering how that affected the market for the older version. I have a used 7740 (just the train, no track instructions or platform) that is missing the 4 yellow 3x3 corner slopes ,and has a 'working' engine (it runs but it's not strong enough to pull the train with extra waggons added).
