  "The Dutchman" Version 1 is Done!
 
Well, I took a Break yesterday from Lego and decided to get in alittle Troublemaking. I was outside playing with my Potato GUN. Anyway, I did some finishing touches on the Steam Train, "The Dutchman". I want to Thank John for the name (Came about in (...) (26 years ago, 2-Jun-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ny.syr)

(...) Yup, that's the place. I don't get to Syracuse often, but around Christmas they still had one Pirate set and a Dark Forest Fortress, as far as I recall at MRSP although perhaps a little higher. I'd be up for such a get-together; John's place in Syracuse sounds like the most logical (central) place to meet. (...) see (...)   4-8-8-4 Followup (98% Done)
 
Well I am 98% done with Version 1. The only thing I have left is the Conductor Control Room for my Minifigs. I didn't built it because I am trying to make it as close to the real thing as possible. I spent alot of time coming up with a creative look (...) (26 years ago, 30-May-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ny.syr) !

I started this project because its a good way to merge multiple technics. The Concept to get something of this size around a curved, and/or Switched track is a chore. I have had similar issues w/ the same  parts (different project, same idea)...I ran out of black slope bricks I needed to complete roofing my structure, so I switched to large black plates and increased the size of the roof 50% ....not always (...) I took a couple days and went to a friend's cottage to party and relax... On my way back I stopped at TRU for a goof (it was just before closing). I was in Kay-bee at the giant eyesoar by the beautiful [1] Onondaga lake, not many old sets, but they did have: (URL) Castle for $40.00 or so along with witches windship for $6.00(seems steep to me). I took all suggestions into account and looked through my stuff to see if I could extend the top. I did have enough, however I need to change the roofing size.
