Re: In town the rest of the week

(...) See Rule #1 When Driving In MA... (...) Not to mention his Rental Kharma! Rule #4 when driving in Massachusetts -- Never take a rental truck down Storrow Drive. (Mem Drive, either!) Right, Todd? (25 years ago, 14-Oct-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.loc.us.ma.bos, lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

Re: In town the rest of the week

(...) I suspect your front right wheel is now cruelly misaligned, too. ;-) Cheers, - jsproat (25 years ago, 14-Oct-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.loc.us.ma.bos, lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

Re: In town the rest of the week

(...) I'm being cruelly maligned. I would never hit a pedestrian on purpose. And I never would have hit that curb, either, if it hadn't have jumped out in front of me because I was trying to be a nice guy. (...) Lesson #3 when driving in Massachusetts -- when entering a rotary at full speed, use that old rusty car in front of you as a shield. (25 years ago, 13-Oct-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.loc.us.ma.bos, lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

Re: In town the rest of the week

(...) Reminds me of something that happened in my drivers ed class: Instructor: "Always aim for the softer target." Friend: "So if we have the options of hitting a brick wall and a pedestrian, we should hit the pedestrian?" Instructor: "Yes." Now (...) (...) Or Larry's favorite. "If theres traffic on road, jump the curb and drive on the sidewalk. The pedestrians will get out of your way." :-) Eric (25 years ago, 13-Oct-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.loc.us.ma.bos, lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

Re: In town the rest of the week

(...) Reminds me of what happened one time when a bunch of us went to Boston for a SF convention. We took my friends mini-van and I was driving in Boston (combination of knowing the place just a little bit, and who felt like driving - the owner (...) (...) You know that old Puritan saying: "If you're not part of the problem, you're part of the pavement." (25 years ago, 13-Oct-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.loc.us.ma.bos, lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

Re: In town the rest of the week

(...) I'm not going to change my internal morality because of where I happen to be. :-) I'm just sweetness and light and MA will have to deal with it. If they don't like it, tough. (25 years ago, 13-Oct-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.loc.us.ma.bos, lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

Re: In town the rest of the week

(...) I'll say. In fact, the whole "how many lanes wide is this road" seems to be kind of a lost question... we have roads that wander from 1 to 3 lanes worth of pavement with little or no warning, lane markers that peter out for no reason, etc. (...) Did anyone else see the Duplo model at the State Fair? It's a giraffe, about 5 feet tall... (Okay, if you want to know where it is, it's between the Horticulture building and the International Bazaar.) :-) (25 years ago, 30-Aug-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)
