I was able to get my first look at the Pick-a-Brick section in Orlando
today.  (Thanks go out to Frelan Collett for the ride.)

My first impression was that it was smaller than I expected.  The Pick
a Brick display is basically a four sided rack with each side having a
4 by 4 arrangement of circular bins. The bins looked similar to the
pictures I have seen of the ones used in the brand stores in Europe.
There certainly seemed to be ample room to expand the display.   The
clerk that I talked to felt that it was doing well and that it would
make sense to expand it.  As it was, he said that they already had one
too many brick types for the bins.  (The axle for the wheels being
sold in the display.)

The pieces are sold by volume -- fill a small cup for $6.99 or a
larger one for $12.99.

Here is a list of what I found in the display:

Thanks for the report. Those (white) 30077 archy fences are one of my favorite parts (I really liked the yellow ones.) -Erik waiting for Chicago (21 years ago, 1-Sep-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.us.fl.orl)

I have uploaded some pictures of the P-A-B setup to brickshelf. I included pictures of all of the bins in case my color listings were unclear. (when moderated) (URL) links) (URL) I have some rather informal information on how much a large cup can (...) (21 years ago, 1-Sep-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.us.fl.orl, lugnet.market.shopping)

Thank you for having posted that summary of the Orlando PaB! I just got back from there, and the selection is a little different from what you saw last week. Specifically, the bin which used to hold 1x2 clear colorless bricks is now empty, and there (...) (21 years ago, 7-Sep-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.us.fl.orl)

Re: Orlando PaB -- Initial Report

I wish there will be PaB's in Europe (please in the Netherlands, too, cause that's where I live). Last month I visited Legoland in Billund, Denmark. There is also a PaB, where you pay by weight. You don't need to spend hours of packing, cause that (...) (21 years ago, 17-Sep-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.us.fl.orl)
