I went to Sunnyvale TRU to pick up an RC car Sunday (I finally saw one in action at the Learning Express in El Paseo, Saratoga and it works pretty nice) and spotted two of the big Technic Shuttle (8480) which, according to S@H is discontinued. I checked Fremont (Newpark Mall) on Friday night. No sign of them. (That is, no sign where they would have been, if they had already been there and gone.) I managed to zip down to Winchester at, um, the legal speed limit, and picked up one of the last four landspeeders. And I picked up another for a friend's kid. Everything else was gone. The TRU at Winchester has 3-4 of Speeder Bikes and Landspeeder left as of 4:30pm. According to the nice lady who's stocking up the other LEGO stuff while I was there, the other sets sold out within 30 minutes... (...) (26 years ago, 13-Mar-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)
