  General NMRA Comments

WOW, the NMRA show has made for a big thread. Speaking of thread... Shirts/Hats/etc. I vote for shirts. I agree with Tom M.--shirts are more readily identifiable at a distance, and all the same color is appropriate too. If you mix and match, no one (...)   Re: Booth monitors and crowd control

(...) Some bracing, say five or six good thick wire-ties, could be wound around a module leg inside the booth. Small holes could be drilled into the triangular parts of the leg so that the ties won't slide up and down. What kind of base will it (...) (24 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

(...) From Roger Rothhaar and myself, thanks for the compliment! :-) It was a lot of fun to build. -Tom McD. (24 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf, lugnet.org.us.baylug)

Re: Booth monitors (look and feel)

(...) I hate to say it like this, but if it's a color that no one else is likely to wear, or that is a bit more eye-catching, it's more readily identifiable by several magnitudes. Yet I'm not saying that we dress up like "Hot Dog On A Stick" (...) (24 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

Re: Booth monitors and crowd control

(...) The only problems with that are that a) we don't necessarily know the size of the layout in advance, and that kind of banner is a pain to adjust b) The plastic vertical support poles would require bracing, and would be easily knocked over by (...)   RE: Booth monitors and crowd control

How about a sign supported by plastic 1 or 1-1/2"pipe going diagonally from corner to corner about 10-12 feet up with a cloth banner. Fred's logo sign could replace the lame bag I brought. Mark (...) (24 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

(...) You rock dude! I'm wondering if Fred's Lego sign can be used in some way too.. maybe behind plexiglass in place of a section of skirting. -Tom McD. (24 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

Wow, great stuff. I liked everything, but I also must add that I LOVED your diner. Every once and a while when I see a model I exclaim "I wish I had thought of that!" So, now I'll just have to be inspired by it. I am definately going to build one. (...) (24 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf, lugnet.org.us.baylug)

  Re: NMRA 2000 Successful

Thank you, James. Your station was obviously an influence on mine and when I add to the interior, I am sure the similarities will be more obvious. In fact, I was about 80% done with a replica of your station when I decided that I was more into (...) (24 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf, lugnet.org.us.baylug)
