[Update!] Re: A GeeBee for the Zoo...

So I stopped by the Zoo today to iron out the details. This place is amazing. They've got tons of planes in beautiful condition, what is soon to be the largest hand-painted mural on the planet (no, really. Guiness is supposed to stop in in a week or (...)   Re: A GeeBee for the Zoo...

Congrats on getting the contract! I hadn't realized they were going to have anything of the sort. I live in Kazoo, and I'm actually at the Air Zoo every day for a class, so I'll have to make sure to stop by. The Gee-Bee is gonna be cool to see (...)   Re: A GeeBee for the Zoo...

(...) Hey congratulations on getting the contract. Sounds like it should be lots of fun. From the info on the website, sounds like they will only be open til 5pm. Bummer, I'd be interested in stopping by, but work ends at 4, and it's about an hour (...)   A GeeBee for the Zoo...

Oh, forget the delay, I can't hold out on this! I've been commissioned by the (URL) Kalamazoo Air Zoo>, a new air & space museum in Kalamazoo, MI, to build a sculpture for their grand opening. I got to choose the subject, so what better than a (...) (20 years ago, 19-Apr-04, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.general, lugnet.build.sculpture, lugnet.loc.us.mi, FTX)

  Re: Back to Colorado!

(...) The library seems to like having us show up. We tend to gather in the kids' section. The kids love it, the library thinks it's cool and we get an ego boost from the attention. I'm not sure how many people we have as we are pretty loose. I (...) (20 years ago, 19-Apr-04, to lugnet.loc.us.co, FTX)

  Re: Back to Colorado!

(...) Well, they don't have pick-a-brick *yet*, if that makes you feel any better. Maybe they'll get it later? Who knows? It's mostly an outlet store - they're there to sell overstock items. What's nice is that they often have sales, and you can (...) (20 years ago, 19-Apr-04, to lugnet.loc.us.co)

  RE: Back to Colorado!

(...) Welcome Jonathan! It's good to hear we're getting another member in - I'm afraid I'm only an occasional one, as my job search has prevented me from building much, and my memory has prevented me from remembering many meetings... but it's nice (...)   Re: Back to Colorado!

car pool for next DixieLUG? (24 April 2004 in Auburn, AL)

I have a **very** undependable car, one not suited to interstate travel. Would some compassionate soul allow me to hitch a ride to the next meeting?   Re: Medieval Townhall

(...) What? Someone counted them all? Who? Certainly not me. Well, I counted 37 of them, but that's it.   Re: Medieval Townhall

(...) The fact I didn't do both roofs like this was three-fold: I wanted to finish the buidling over easter weekend, and had "only" 1000 tiles, which would have not been enough to cover all. Second, I wanted some variation, as many of such buildings (...) (20 years ago, 17-Apr-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.loc.us.oh, FTX)

  Re: Medieval Townhall

(...) Wow, I can't believe someone actually counted, I didn't!! Thanks, that number sounds about right (I bet it is), I had 1000 of them available, and am left with about 1/4. Paul (20 years ago, 17-Apr-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.loc.us.oh, FTX)

Amazing work Paul, like everybody else, I'm blown away by the roof. The entrance is also a great piece of building. The color scheme is perfect, espicially with those bits of red and blue on the corners. Well done. -Keith (20 years ago, 17-Apr-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.loc.us.oh, FTX)
