  Re: Boxes and storage

(...) Thanks Simon, I feared that would be the case (expensive). I've noticed that plastic stuff here costs at least twice as much as it did in Australia (where I'm from). Its also a lot harder to find. I have my fingers crossed that Britons will (...) (20 years ago, 2-Jan-05, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Boxes and storage

(...) Hi Tim, I can't think of any UK AFOLs who live in Manchester. I reckon your best bet will be to buy online from one of the DIY stores. A while back there was a good deal at Maplin on three tier plastic drawers on wheels. Be careful as storage (...) (20 years ago, 1-Jan-05, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Boxes and storage

Dear all, Can anyone tell me where in Manchester to buy plastic boxes, storage drawers etc., or which chain stores are good for that sort of thing. I simply cannot find anything and, as I don't drive, can't easily try place after place. Any help (...) (20 years ago, 1-Jan-05, to lugnet.loc.uk)

New British Class 50 'Hoover' in Large-Logo Blue Livery

Here's a new British loco in 8mm:1ft scale. It is 50033 "Glorious" in memory of the real engine of that name being shut up in Swindon (UK) STEAM museum, fully serviceable but unable to run - what a shame! Still, you can go and see it without finding (...) (20 years ago, 1-Dec-04, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.loc.uk, FTX) !

Re: LEGO Brand Store Near Heathrow?

Kingston is almost on the way between LHR and LGW but it'a an awful place to get to and from by car and you'd need to allow at least 5 hours (2 hours to fight through the traffic, park and find the shop, 1 hour to shop, and 2 hours to Gatwick, (...) (20 years ago, 30-Nov-04, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  LEGO Brand Store Near Heathrow?

I will be attending a meeting for work at a hotel near Heathrow 12/1 and 12/2 and wondering if any of the LEGO Brand Stores are near by? Looking at the LEGO.com web site, it appears that the Kinstron-Upon-Thames store ((URL) is probably the closest. (...) (20 years ago, 29-Nov-04, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Lego Train Wins Prize at Hull (UK) Model Railway Show!

At the Hull (UK) Model Railway Show last weekend, my 8mm:1ft scale British Class 28 CoBo engine (known to fans of Thomas as "BoCo") won the A1 Models Trophy for the best "modern outline" exhibit.   Re: Please?

(...) Posted on behalf of Sian Hockaday of the Brickish Association I'm not from Glasgow, but the best Lego seller I've found in the city centre is John Lewis: Its in the Buchanan galleries, top end of Buchannan street.
