Re: Announcing the next LEGO Modelmaking Experience at LEGOLAND Windsor

There are now just 14 places left on this experience -- 2 in the morning and 12 in the afternoon. If you're thinking of attending but haven't yet booked, I suggest you do so soon. For more details and information on booking a place, please see (URL) (22 years ago, 11-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.announce)

Re: Working Signal Box and Signals

(...) Very neat! And I see no reason why these couldn't run over fairly long distances! And for your next project, some mechanical interlocking on that signal box would be *really* neat 8?) ROSCO (22 years ago, 11-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.trains)

Re: Working Signal Box and Signals

I *like* it! True model railway wire in tube actuation. By strange coincidence, I ordered a pile of flex bits at the weekend. I think I'll have a go. The lighting doesn't show up very well, but the concept is magnificent. I think I'll have a go at (...) (22 years ago, 10-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.trains)

  Working Signal Box and Signals

My first MOC, using flex parts to work a signal from a lever frame in the signal box, and lighting the red and green aspects with a lamp: (URL) to read the 'motorized switch' debate on lugnet.trains, perhaps this offers some other ideas, although I (...)   Re: Request For Comments: Proposal to set up a club for UK Fans of LEGO

That's the big question. What would you like it to do? The first thing that comes to mind, following recent discussions here and elsewhere, is that it will be the conduit for discussions between 'us' (AFOLs in the UK) and 'them' (any other (...) (22 years ago, 8-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: Request For Comments: Proposal to set up a club for UK Fans of LEGO

Ok. This is something that the steering committee could pick up. Perhaps I should have put something in about proxy voting :-) Again, the SC could put this in its proposal. Regarding the Steering committee, I have already said, but will reiterate, (...) (22 years ago, 8-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: Request For Comments: Proposal to set up a club for UK Fans of LEGO

(...) Yup - same issue with me for that weekend. Otherwise I'd have been attending both. Chris (22 years ago, 8-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: Request For Comments: Proposal to set up a club for UK Fans of LEGO

(...) Well done Tony. In the nature of forming constitutions etc., even with additional volunteers the timescale for the suggested process is a wee bit short. Is there anyway the number of steps can be reduced or the process begun earlier? The (...) (22 years ago, 8-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Modelmaking experience

(...) Thanks for the offer Pete. I'll keep it in mind. I think it really depends on where any meeting is on the Sunday, and of course if you're stuck for transport. I mean, it's probably quicker for me to go back to Gosport from Windsor than it is (...) (22 years ago, 7-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Modelmaking experience

Regarding Jason Railton's overnight request, I can offer him and Gael a place to crash...Trouble is, I'm in Romford and don't drive, so I'm not sure how helpful this is regarding the sunday swap. Let me know what's happening, guys. Pete (22 years ago, 7-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: Woolworths Buy 1 Get 1 Free

(...) I suspect that this is no accident - the signs clearly say 'while stocks last'. They're just waiting for the shelves to clear, then they take the signs down at the same time they re-stock. Southampton still had a few items left on the offer (...) (22 years ago, 7-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Request For Comments: Proposal to set up a club for UK Fans of LEGO

This initial posting is to set up a framework & timescale for discussions aimed towards the formation of a formal club for LEGO fans in (& possibly around) the United Kingdom. THE PROPOSAL 1. Hi all, Two Australian Lego-collecting Postdocs in the UK! What are the odds of that?? Well ... maybe not too bad I guess. I actually de-lurked some time ago but haven't been posting much. I'm still accumulating all the pieces I need for my Grand (...) (22 years ago, 6-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: Working with LLW / UKLUG (or whatever)? (was Re: We've scratched their back, etc.)

OK. I'll do step one in the next day or so. I'm also up for step 2, although I'd certainly like at least one other, just so I don't go off on one... It just so happens that I'm off work next week, so I might have some spare time :-) Tony On Wed, 5 (...) (22 years ago, 5-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.uk)
