The Meccano can I opened continues to spill worms...

I have had the following email from the Chairman of the International
Society of Meccanomen:

<snip>

Does the International Society of Meccano*men* allow women or is it an
entirely male society?  Surely that's not 'Politically Correct' these days.

Refreshing.... isn't it?  Thank goodness not everything in life has given in
to the evils of Political Correctness.

Seems to me that they are not quite up to the social, cultural and
technological standards of LUGNET.

Bear in mind that many of the traditions, expressions and "standards" of the
Meccano enthusiasts have been in place for decades; long before LEGO ever
molded their first plastic brick.  Perhaps, someday down the road LEGO
enthusiasts will seem equally out-of-date as they talk about their "studs
and tubes".   :)

Regards,
Allan B.
