  Re: Payment to the UK

I have found that my banks in the UK (Midland HSBC and Halifax) are happy to accept _most_ non-Sterling cheques. They tend to use a sliding scale of charges from nothing(!) for sub 20GBP value cheques at the Halifax up to about 8GBP (~13USD) for (...) (25 years ago, 11-May-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Payment to the UK

It may be worth hooking up with a factor in the UK if you intend to undertake many more UK sourced transactions. I'll keep this in mind. Thanks to all who replied. Time was growing short, so I took the $8.50 option. Next time I need to factor all costs (hidden or otherwise) before making a deal. Oh well... not a terrible loss. Thanks for the help. -Rob (...) (25 years ago, 14-May-99, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

  Re: Payment to the UK

Thanks, Richard. So far I have not used my factorees to do general payments for third parties, much, but I do pay them for their time and trouble, so I'd be willing to consider it. This is not a scheme for when you are in a tearing hurry, it's a (...) (25 years ago, 18-May-99, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)
