Re: Proposed new byelaw for lugnet.loc.uk

(...) Seconded! Or we could just go outside and do something less boring instead? Richard (26 years ago, 22-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Proposed new byelaw for lugnet.loc.uk

Posts are highly encouraged to contain subtle references to british comedy/sci-fi/children's programmes for the entertainment of the locals and to baffle culturally bereft American snoopers. They don't like it up 'em! -- Liam. (26 years ago, 21-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: LEGO/DK event at Ottakars

(...) Richard got to post before I did. My Five year old has just been given the two new books for people & animals, made "from bricks that you have at home". I would be interested to find out how many of these models (if any) can be completed, in (...) (26 years ago, 21-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Liam Parnell wrote in message ... (...) This brings to mind a certain TV show.... This week, I has been mostly eating Bourbon biscuits. Anybody any answers!? David (26 years ago, 20-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.general)

  Re: LEGO/DK event at Ottakars

I don't personally have a problem with that, and if you could persuade them that the amazing figures books should come with the hard-to-find pieces that they show, or have an offer to buy them... then all the better :) Oh, and is the Ultimate Lego (...) (26 years ago, 21-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: LEGO/DK event at Ottakars

Would people mind if I passed on all the comments (both good and bad) to the relevent people within DK? If it can be shown that these events are popular with prehaps a wider audience than they at first imagined hopefully they will consider doing (...) (26 years ago, 21-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: brick packs

I suspect that Busy Bee will not be able to help you with grey bricks. I have bought half a dozen of their mixed brick boxes. Basically, they are a mix of the blue, green, black and yellow bricks from the 4220 freestyle box. Apparently, somebody or (...) (26 years ago, 19-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: 11 O'Clock Show

Oh come on, you're not seriously trading in disasters are you? I'm more offended by the fact that you've trivialised both events by turning it into a petty Atlantic divide. If you thought that the first post was offensive, then you knew that yours (...) (26 years ago, 19-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.general)

The same piece count could be used for PanAm 103, but I guess this would be a little bit too close to home. -Phil (...) (26 years ago, 19-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.general)

  Re: brick packs

(...) in. Shop@Home is rumoured to not be selling parts packs next year, and its better to be safe than sorry. Get someone to order them now, S@H ships quickly, then you can take time to finish out the transaction. I'd be willing to consider this (...) (26 years ago, 19-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: brick packs

(...) Buying them via Lugnet or RTL. Get some co-operative fellow on my side of the pond to buy you several 5145's, and either pay in cash or in various UK only sets. Like, for example, the cannons service pack, on any one of a gazillion promo (...) (26 years ago, 19-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: brick packs

(...) what (...) I saw that busy bee do bulk bricks in single colours, but it is the usual stuff from the brick boxes, just sorted. I doubt there is grey, the only way would be to break open some expensive sets and have a ton of other specialised (...) (26 years ago, 19-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: brick packs

Phone Busey Bee. Paul offered me single coloured brick packs once - they sort them for you! He makes up the packs for a management company. I'm not sure what the price is though. Scott A (...) (26 years ago, 19-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: brick packs

(...) actually, I can now answer my own question. I phoned up lego and asked. And the answer is of course, no. Their only response was to buy the boxes of mixed colour bricks, but they dont contain grey, or I could try phoning the lego world shop in (...) (26 years ago, 19-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

There was a short feature on Mindstorms on ITV's late-night computer games show 'Cybernet' last night. There were snippets of interviews with Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen (sp?) and one of the guys from MIT. As for footage of the product(s) themselves, (...) (26 years ago, 19-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  11 O'Clock Show

On the 11 O'Clock Show last night (a satirical look at the day's news shown on Channel 4 on Tuesdays to Thursdays), there was a pretty sick Lego joke - apologies to anybody who gets offended now, but I'm only the messenger, (although I have to admit (...)
