  Christmas has been cancelled

I cannot believe it, but it is true. I get home to see the Sears Wishbook. And just like I always do, I opened it up to the back and look at the toys. I think, what exclusive LEGO sets do they have this year. But... I could not find any LEGO at all (...) (17 years ago, 27-Aug-07, to lugnet.loc.ca) !

  Re: Christmas has been cancelled

I gave up on the Wishbook years ago. When I was a kid (70's) it was a special occasion with more toys I had never seen before than I could imagine. Of course, back then toy stores seemed a rarity as well and who could even imagine something like (...) (17 years ago, 28-Aug-07, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: Christmas has been cancelled

I heard that if LEGO couldn't guarantee a certain amount of stock level by a certain date, then Sears has to make the decision to not include them in their catalog. I'm sure many people remember the amount of LEGOs on store shelves last December (...) (17 years ago, 28-Aug-07, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.market.theory, FTX)

  Re: Christmas has been cancelled

(...) Its also important to note that due to the supply transition the LEGO group had to pick its focus this year and that focus is Wal-mart, Target and TRU. The idea is that LEGO will do all it can to keep those three accounts as well stocked as (...) (17 years ago, 29-Aug-07, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.market.theory, FTX)

  Re: Christmas has been cancelled

(...) Steve, My concern is that a retailer that has had many exclusive sets over the years is not apparently carrying your product anymore. LEGO seems to be losing market share in a huge way and that is not a good sign. This as set design seems to (...) (17 years ago, 29-Aug-07, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.market.theory, FTX)

(...) Plus, the internet is usually harder to look at while in the most popular "reading room" of your house... ;-) (URL) (17 years ago, 29-Aug-07, to lugnet.off-topic.fun, FTX)

  Re: Christmas has been cancelled

(...) Heh. I am of course delighted to see Mega Bloks being represented in the famous Sears Wishbook. I'll need to take a look to see if they have any unusual sets, as they have in the past. Additionally, Sears/KMart had a general product line (...) (17 years ago, 30-Aug-07, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: Christmas has been cancelled

(...) Gee, I thought the Wishbook disappeared when Sears ended (most of) their catalog operations in the early 1990s. (It always seems to me that if Sears had waited 5 years and had a little insight (OK, 2 big ifs) that they could have preempted (...) (17 years ago, 30-Aug-07, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: Christmas has been cancelled

(...) I think Sears Canada and Sears(USA) may have done things differently. (17 years ago, 30-Aug-07, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: Christmas has been cancelled

(...) Please note that this is for Canada (hence the group I chose). Sears have not stopped catalog operations here. I have used it several times over the last few years specifically for LEGO and regularily receive catalogs. Along with that they (...) (17 years ago, 30-Aug-07, to lugnet.loc.ca)
