Hi Folks,
With the current Zeller's Buy one get one half price sale, I thought it
would be an excellent oppurtunity to build a small army of Storm Troopers by
stocking up on #7201. So on Saturday morning I visited all five differnt
Zeller's stores in the Halifax/Dartmouth area. My total take was zero units.
In fact there was not even a sticker on the shelf . Lots of 7200, 7203 and
7204.
Since Saturday I have reflected on this issue and decided to ask other
Candian lego fans if they have noticed any of the following has happened at
Zeller's stores in thier provinces.
Although I am not specificly interested in Jack Stone, Alpha Team or Life on
Mars, these lines as well as Star Wars ( I am interested) are getting about
75 to 80% coverage.
All the Zeller's stores Line coverage ends at about the $45.00 price point.
For example; there are no Harry Potter Train sets, No Harry Potter Castles
at any of the Local Zellers. No Ogel underwater base. This is not reflected
in my above percentages.
Zellers is always the last chain to get new sets. Note that the Bay and
Sears are both atrocious in their Lego selection here. I don't even bother
checking for new sets there anymore.
Do you think that this is some Zellers Regional Manager's buying decision or
perhaps the Lego rep has dropping the ball. If I was buying the odd set here
and there I probably wouldn't notice and buy everything at TRU retail, but
when Lego is your vice,it's awfully nice to get those 25% discounts.
Thanks for any comments

| (...) John, I was at my local (Brantford, Ontario) Zellers on Sunday for the BOGOHO and didn't see anything that "turned my crank". I did see a few 7201s but even using BOGOHO I don't like the price - 46 pieces for $15+tax? (assuming you buy two (...) (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.loc.ca)

| (...) Hey John, I have noticed the same thing in the two Zellers in the Fredericton area - they have three of the four Jedi Defense/Final Duel sets. I can't remember which exactly they are missing, but I'll bet it's 7201. (...) I've noticed this (...) (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.loc.ca)

| (...) In Toronto and Belleville, I could find 7201's. (...) You know, I can't really find anything I like either. It seems Zellers is devoid of any good sets lately, it's like the worst subset of the Lego lineup (which is already bad) they could do. (...) (23 years ago, 29-Mar-02, to lugnet.loc.ca)
