Re: Gauging interest in The Hobby Show 2004 - Toronto, ON

(...) Hello Janey, That's a good question. Last year that was probably the most common question I got. And the answer is 'no' you don't have to commit to all three days. In fact, for the 2003 show, we had people who attended for just about every (...) (20 years ago, 16-May-04, to lugnet.events, lugnet.loc.ca.on)

Gauging interest in The Hobby Show 2004 - Toronto, ON

The Hobby Show in Toronto is just about 6 months away. This post is intended to gauge the level of interest that people have in putting on a booth at this year's show. As a reminder, the Can-Brick Builders attended last year's show (Nov 2003) and (...)   Re: ParLUGment May Meeting

Well, we had a record breaking turn-out for our May meeting. 14 people showed up, and that was without 2 regulars. We went around the circle to introduce ourselves and our favourite themes, so the new attendees were Deborah (architecture), Shirley (...)   Re: LEGO train Show in Niagara Falls,Canada presented by TheBrickArt

(...) RTLToronto and others- Sorry up front for the cross-post, but I wanted to get this to the .loc and .orgs in the area... I just stopped in a lunch and Marek let me peek at his layout. It is about 13m x 6m (about 42 x 20 ft), has several bridges (...) (20 years ago, 4-May-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.loc.us.ny.buf, lugnet.loc.ca.on.ham)

  Re: Dear LEGO...

Have to agree with getting more Pick a brick stores, you have one in Windsor, down in the south of england, there should be one up north, say Manchester, so i can get the bits i need without resorting to bricklink :D (20 years ago, 30-Apr-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.loc.ca.on.ott, lugnet.org.ca.parlugment, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Dear LEGO...

(...) I totally agree. The only other store west of Minnesota not in California is in Colorado. BC has just under a half million people less than Colorado. Plus we don't have any small chain toy stores. I would think this is one of the lest (...) (20 years ago, 30-Apr-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.ca)

  History

Don't know how I got the idea, but I was browsing LUGNET and got the idea to look up who were the oldest posters on LUGNET from ParLUGment. Interesting stuff. Here's their first posts to LUGNET, first posts to .ott, and rec.toys.lego/alt.toys.lego (...) (20 years ago, 29-Apr-04, to lugnet.org.ca.parlugment, lugnet.loc.ca.on.ott)

  Zellers asnd TRU small sales

Zellers ran a one page ad in one of the Halifax papers yesterday having a BOGO half off sale on all LEGO Thursday and Friday (April 29th and 30th) only. The sale is probably nation-wide, but I'm not positive as it wasn't in their normal flyer. TRU (...) (20 years ago, 29-Apr-04, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Dear LEGO...

(cross-posting to Dear-LEGO) Jake, ...or whichever other LEGO representative that might be reading this... Why has Canada been left out of all these LEGO store openings?!?!   Re: 7046 in Canada

I am just going from my price list/catalog release dates. Sometimes the 'big guys' can get things around the same time as shop@home, but the smaller dealers for sure won't see it till July, same as the Falcon, and quite a few other sets as well. HP (...)   Re: 7046 in Canada

(...) Why would TLC put it out in the Magazine and Catalogue with the other "Rescue" Sets (back in Nov.) if it gunning for a July '04 Release? I heard from a freind he saw the set two weeks ago at one particular TRU, but when I went there last week (...) (20 years ago, 22-Apr-04, to lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.town)

  Spiderman 2 sets at TRU

Emailed this around on Monday, but thought I should put a heads up here. New Spiderman 2 sets are now at TRU in Canada. 4853 Spider-Man's Street Chase - $15 4854 Doc Ock's Bank Robbery - $30 4857 Doc Ock's Fusion Lab - $30 4855 Spider-Man's Train (...)   Re: 7046 in Canada

Dealers are not getting the 7046 till July, so it's a semi shop@home exclusive for a few months of preview. A very common thing these days. Same with Falcon, new falcon probably won't hit shelves till July retail wise, but shop@home has it already (20 years ago, 21-Apr-04, to lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.town)

  Re: meeting in may?

  Shopping Update

Stopped at TRU on Merivale today. They have ALL the X-Pods now. A bin full. And they have a LOT of stuff on sale, between 30-45% off on sports, racers, some new creator & town stuff, and of course Jack Stone. The 45% was mainly the extra-large (...)   Re: 7046 in Canada

(...) This set had a manufacturing issue. Some sets were fine while others were missing one polybag (the one with all the legs) and had another bag that was duplicated.
