Thanks for the informative post.
I don't suppose that even sending packages slow boat would make it
economically feasible. What a shame, I take a personal delight in short
circuiting some of the national barriers set up by retailers. I've exchanged
Lego parts and sets with people in both Japan and the UK. (The Japanese
really pay high prices!)
I assume the K-Mart you're referring to is the same one that declared itself
bankrupt here last week. Maybe you'll be getting some really good deals in
the near future!
