Re: train track prservation —Ross Crawford
(...) Hi Michael, I haven't tried it with LEGO track (that's why I didnt post to .trains), but with my HO track when I was a kid, I used methylated spirit. Just put a bit on a rag, and rub it around the tracks. Or better still, they had a "cleaning (...) (23 years ago, 22-Oct-01, to lugnet.loc.au)

Hi Michael Err..be mindful of the language, it doesnt bother me, but the Political Correctness police might come after you, because harshness of reality is sometimes a crime! <g> Anyhow, I'm not sure what type of track you're referring to. If its' (...) (23 years ago, 22-Oct-01, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: train track prservation —Benjamin Whytcross
(...) Yep...And it's strange how being in an Aussie oriented newsgroup, we can get targetted by Seppo Political Correctness Police about language we use. It's almost as if they want the whole world doing what they want done in the way they do it... (...) (23 years ago, 23-Oct-01, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: train track prservation —Larry Pieniazek
(...) (gives in to the inevitable) My goodness that's a rather large chip you're carrying on your shoulder, isn't it? Until you foamed the only US post in this thread was one intended to be helpful. (23 years ago, 23-Oct-01, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: train track prservation —Scott Arthur
(...) Hmm. Do you mean this: (URL) I'm missing a joke about the cleanliness of Michael's house, it looks more rude than "helpful". If you don't understand why, let me know and I shall explain. Scott A (More of a "Jock" than a "Seppo") (23 years ago, 23-Oct-01, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: train track prservation —Peter Callaway
(...) Now now! I Think Benjamin was referring to someone sniping about the "p" word rather than Larry's light-hearted comment about mud and cleanliness. Quite amusing I thought, and I'm sure no offence was taken. Let's not get worked up over this (...) (23 years ago, 23-Oct-01, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: train track prservation —Larry Pieniazek
In lugnet.loc.au, Peter Callaway writes: <snip> In one of the previous threads on track dirtiness that Michael started, he said he lives by the sea. We don't keep a particularly clean house, we get dust and mud all over it, all the time. We have (...) (23 years ago, 23-Oct-01, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.trains)

Re: train track prservation —Scott Arthur
(...) I'm not trying to cause "trouble" Larry. I was just stating that I thought your message was more rude than helpful, and I still do despite your squirming. If you want to continue bickering over this Larry, reply to this message somewhere (...) (23 years ago, 23-Oct-01, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: train track prservation —Larry Pieniazek
(...) That's an issue with your reading comprehension, not the message. (...) When someone catches you in a lie, pointing it out is "bickering", apparently. That's another lie. This "bickering" characterisation is the same lie you used to try to (...) (23 years ago, 23-Oct-01, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: train track prservation —Scott Arthur
(...) ...and were readers supposed to know that? Were readers supposed to check Michael's every post? Why not mention it in your post? (...) Well, that's nothing to brag about. (...) This is not about your track. (...) Interesting. I can see a salty (...) (23 years ago, 23-Oct-01, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: train track prservation —Santosh Bhat
(...) Well sometimes its not really a matter of PC'ed ness, but more a question of tact. For example the situation where a largeish person is approached, the PC version would be to think of them as a "<something> <something> challenged person", the (...)
