    Re: RIS v2 —Michael Golaszewski
..and that is what I asked LEGO Australia a month or two ago and was told that they don't have a plan to release it here this year, and are not even sure about next year.. As I can remember, I think it had something to do with the fact that a lot of (...) (23 years ago, 28-Aug-01, to lugnet.loc.au)

        Re: RIS v2 —Edward Cox
(...) The thing that excites me (in a strange sort of LEGO way) about the RIS 2.0 are the 3 (primary) cool looking new robots (Wall climber, bungee jumper, and t-rex) that are featured on the site (and box??). [yes I know that some of the models (...) (23 years ago, 28-Aug-01, to lugnet.loc.au)

(...) RIS 2.0 (...) jumper, (...) some (...) them!!]. I've seen the wall climber and the bungee jumper (well, I would have called it an abseiler) built with 1.0, so there is no need to wait for 2.0 to build them! Just buy more RCXes and start (...)      (...) Haven't 430 V2.0 taken over a Norwegian container ship off Christmas Island. After hearing more Mindstorms had been 'lost at sea' they assembled and took part in a mutiny with a plan to sail to an island where it's Christmas every day, or (...)         Re: RIS v2 —Ross Crawford
(...) Are they serious???? The tower uses USB instead of serial!!!! I haven't seen any new pooters that don't have at least 1 USB port, and it's pretty easy (& cheap) to upgrade to a motherboard with USB. I can't beleive they'd deprive us just (...)         Re: RIS v2 —Michael Golaszewski
Just had some good news, the chances of a release next year are pretty certain!! YEAH!! And even better news!!!! There will be a early delivery in November, so it looks like Mindstorms v2.0 will be here in November, I am pretty sure it will be the (...) (23 years ago, 29-Aug-01, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: RIS v2 —Deidre Rushton Brumby
(...) The reason I heard (several months ago and unverified) is that it requires Windows 2000 and there was (supposedly) a low uptake of Windows 2000 by the general public* in Australia. Deidre *anecdotal evidence suggests this to be true wrt (...) (23 years ago, 30-Aug-01, to lugnet.loc.au)
