Still talking about Coles/Myer (I over zealously edited Ross' post): I'm fairly sure that eligibility for the shareholder discount was temporarily suspended for all new investors sometime early last year as it was costing the company too much money! (...) (23 years ago, 15-Feb-01, to lugnet.loc.au)

The shareholder discounts do make it very attractive. Occasionally some punk behind a register will ask you to sign for it though. Actually, it's either the really fresh young punks high on store policy/procedures, or the older punk that seems to (...) (23 years ago, 15-Feb-01, to lugnet.loc.au)

Speaking as a Coles Myer shareholder, I can confirm that new sharebuyers are not getting the discount card, allegedly while the company decides the long-term future direction of the discount scheme. A discount card can have up to two signatures on (...) (23 years ago, 15-Feb-01, to lugnet.loc.au)
