    DROID ALERT —Peter White
FYI - TRU Parramatta had all three SW 2000 DROIDS available as at Friday 24/3, the prices were $ 100+ $ 60+ and $ 40+ AUD, sorry but I didn't write them down. So expect the prices to be a couple of dollars above the above. - Pete.W. (25 years ago, 24-Mar-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

WHAT???????? $99.99 for 8002??? What in the Sam Hill are they smoking at your local toystore? The MSRP for 8002 is $49.99. All the prices you mention are WAY high, by nearly a factor of two! I suggest you move to a bigger town ASAP! :-) -Bill Leue (...) (25 years ago, 27-Mar-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

Oops! Well, of course, I should have looked at your return email address more carefully! Australian dollars! *blushes* Sorry, typical Yankee assumption that 'dollars' means 'U.S dollars'. What is the current exchange rate? -Bill Leue (...) (25 years ago, 27-Mar-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

(...) assumption (...) Hi Bill, the way to work it out is to multiply the above by 0.6 , with the exchange rate at the moment just hovering above 60 US cents to the 1 Aussie dollar. I know, it's still more expensive but that's the story down here. (...) (25 years ago, 27-Mar-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

(...) Guess they didn't want to break the $ 100 mental barrier ,but as we all know 99.99 gets rounded up. At TRU $42something for 8000 and $64something for 8001 seems to ring a bell.
