Cadbury Factory Tour. Mmmmmm.
Cascade Brewery Tour. Mmmmmm. (Though perhaps not with a child...)
Battery Point Maritime Museum.
Tasmanian Museum.
Salamanca Markets.
Shot tower.
The climb from the Derwent to Mt Wellington is the highest (or perhaps second
highest) direct ascent you can do in Australia. (Although, again, perhaps not
with a child).
Plenty of day tours from Hobart to interesting places too.
The weather is not necessarily too bad in June. We spent a week there in July
1994, and it was comfortably warm (16-20ish, I guess) for 6.5 of eight days. The
other times were a bit chilly (hint: avoid Mt Wellington after sunset if it's
windy).
Cheers
