Plus finding a scanner that actually works and is not guarded by a feral
scanning half the clothing in the store.

That’s a great deal. 8.6c/pc. Plus you get a free LEGO branded kid’s
backpack, and a bionicle poster. Plus you get to wait at the checkout while
they try, in vain, to scan the barcode.

You sure this wasn’t some shoplifter’s backpack ;^)

Unfortunately, there were only two on the shelf. I restrained myself to only
one. Initially. By the time I’d got to my car, I reconsidered, and I went
back for the second (I had the same barcode scanning problems with the
second, but, at 8.6c/pc I didn’t really mind!).

I’ve avoided the mini sets so far, but am quite impressed with the ’ Falcon
(I built one in left hand drive form, to appease the 66% of the world’s
population who drive on the wrong side of the road.) ;-)
What strikes me as odd about this deal is the mix of sets - one that’s new,
one that’s been on clearance (or at least cluttering the shelves) for a
while, and one that hasn’t been on shelves for around three years.

Only Lego could come up with a marketing idea like this.
