Well, the last MUGS get-together for 2000 happened, pretty much as planned, at Bens place on Saturday. Present were Ben & Mandy, Paul Baulch, Martin Scragg, and myself. Hi All just thought I would let the locals know I finished setting up a 4 shelf display at the Redbank Plaza Library this morning. Just to give everyone a little warning... Life on mars, starwars [minifig] and starwars[technic] sets are due for release in Feb. Also, catalogues should appear in feb/march. Kerry, Not in Brizzy, but TRU here in Melbourne (Chadstone) still has a few (or did just after christmas). I think it's the 8735? I gave some kids a Mindstorms RIS set for Christmas. Inevitably (or so it seems to me 'cos I did the same thing myself) they are now saying "the RIS can drive 3 motors but the set only comes with 2, where can I get another motor?" I had to phone Myer Queen Street re getting a replacement set (damaged CD in a Mindstorms set) and was told that their shelves were almost empty of Lego as it had sold so well before Christmas. Due to holiday-induced torpor resulting in only a few responses, the event for this Friday evening has been cancelled. So any STUDS had better re-organise their social calendars. Is there anything much on special at the moment? The 6829 ufo sets at big W (the only store that had any just HAD to be the one that was halfway across town) are the best deal on lego I have ever seen but is there anything else thats on (...) (25 years ago, 2-Jan-01, to lugnet.loc.au)

I have found that toyworld is a good place to find discontinued lego (like the 6104 I found at the whitfords store today, now that was a find!). The major chains always seem to move discontinued stock around the country all the time (usually never (...) (25 years ago, 2-Jan-01, to lugnet.loc.au)
