  Summary: MUGS 2006-01

Incorporating the 2nd MUGS building championship. BBQ at Tim's place with the usual frivolity, a few MOCs, but mostly just good old-fashioned LEGO fun. Tim supplied the contest materials, including [LEGOSet 7412] [LEGOSet 4731] [LEGOSet 4335] and a (...) (19 years ago, 5-Feb-06, to lugnet.loc.au.vic.mel, FTX)

Re: STUDS: Return from the dead

(...) Hey ho! I'm still around :-) A bit relaxed about meeting - having too much fun actually playing with Lego. I have been steeped in MB for a while, but these new Exoforce sets are fun. I've built a largish Warhammer Templar Keep out of MB, and (...) (19 years ago, 5-Feb-06, to lugnet.loc.au)

As the tag line says: Love is a force of nature. In honour of our(1) Heath's nomination for an Oscar (r), I decided to build a vig of a scene from Brokeback Mountain.   Re: Another Top Aussie Icon.

(...) I was referring to the well known seppo preference to leave out the "u" on words which most commonwealth countries spell with "ou", and... (...) ...it fitted nicely with that reference as well. So I winked. Sorry for being so obscure. ROSCO (19 years ago, 30-Jan-06, to lugnet.loc.au, FTX)

  Re: Another Top Aussie Icon.

(...) <looks up "seppo"> Ahh, well, then now, I don't quite get your winky. I was making reference to an infamous gaffe from the movie "This is Spinal Tap" where Jeanine pronounces "Dolby®" as "doubly". Sorry to be so obscure with my references.... (...) (...) I thought, being a seppo, you'd spell it "dobly" ;) ROSCO (19 years ago, 30-Jan-06, to lugnet.loc.au, FTX)

  Re: Another Top Aussie Icon.

(...) Misspellings can indeed be embarrassing! As for "doubly", that is how I prefer all of my music. JOHN (19 years ago, 30-Jan-06, to lugnet.loc.au, FTX)

  Re: Another Top Aussie Icon.

(...) My sincere apologies to Teunis for mispelling his surname, and my thanks to Ross (who is also a top Aussie) for spotting my error and pointing it out.
