  Re: BBC "Day in pictures"

PS. See (URL) for better images PPS. It is Hirst, not Hurst (19 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.loc.uk.en)

  Re: BBC "Day in pictures"

(...) That is from a series called 'Little Artists' made by a Mancunian artist pair (I think) John Cake and Darren Neave. It recreates famous British modern art pieces such as the shark by Damien Hurst and 'Everyone I have ever slept with' by Tracy (...)   BBC "Day in pictures"

Go to the last picture of the day: "6 of 6: The finishing touches are added to an art exhibition made entirely of Lego, on display in the British city of Liverpool."   Re: Where do we go from here...

(...) Hello deborah-with-out-capitals! (...) Well, I was very impressed by deborah's models--they were very neat. I even took the effort to go after the opening ceremonies to see hers and Janey's work in the display rooms set up by the display (...)   Re: Where do we go from here...

(...) hmm. Very interesting. Does that mean Janey, who contributed to one of the Great Ball Contraption modules had more in the Technic/Mindstorms/GBC area than all the robot-heads & robot-freaks of rtl combined? I'm totally not going there. (19 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.loc.ca.on)

Re: Where do we go from here...

(...) Yes, and while I enjoyed his help a lot, my favourite part was the big hug he gave me before he went home. What a cutie! It was a pleasure meeting you as well. (...) Thanks, the cable cars were fun, I hope to expand that layout (it was very (...) (19 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.loc.ca.on)

Re: Where do we go from here...

(...) And keep in mind while counting that Janey had, at least for a little bit, a small piece of the GBC designed by her as well (with the help of my son). (...) Actually, while I didn't get to see it run, I liked the cable cars in the micro train (...) (19 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.loc.ca.on)

  Re: Mini moonbase, anyone?

(...) Sure, I've already emailed the programming person. Depending on when she next gets a chance to look at it, I'll hear from her on the idea. It has the advantage of not being something we've done recently, that I remember, which is always good. (...) (19 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.loc.us.co)

  Re: Mini moonbase, anyone?

(...) Well, you're in the Fort Collins area IIRC, so if that happens, you can come on over to my house sometime (or vice versa) and well have a mini-micro-moonbase with just whatever the two of us have built! Best, — Joe (19 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.loc.us.co, FTX)

  Re: Mini moonbase, anyone?

(...) I would vote for (a) or (b). I'm thinking cheap and informal since we don't really have much in the way of experience doing public displays. I'm making the assumption that we're coming into this late in the game. Maybe next year we could be a (...) (19 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.loc.us.co)

  Re: Mini moonbase, anyone?

(...) Yep, the main thing that appeals to me about micro is that (I imagine) it requires less time and parts than building at minifig scale. Trust me, I don't plan to put more than a few hours into it, and the result will probably suck, but I trust (...) (19 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.loc.us.co, FTX)

  Re: Mini moonbase, anyone?

(...) That sounds like fun! I've been looking for a small project to work on recently, and this looks like a good one. I'm at least going to start working on one, even if I don't end up being able to attend. -Joel (19 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.loc.us.co, FTX)

(...) A lego display? I know we've had people show up informally and show such off, but we might. Let me email Rose and see what's possible.
