No, they said at the LLW tour that there was a model maker group at LL CA.
I believe it is small at present, and true many of the models were built at
LLW.
They need some capability on site for maintenance purposes I would assume.
Besides breakages, people actually steal models or pieces of and take them
home - the automobiles are popular.
Cars were one of the things they said were made locally - each model making
team specialises in cars common to their locality and send them to all the
other parks if they are 'world' cars.
And actually we didn't go on a tour of the main model making facility.
The one we did go round, though a working facility, is quite small and on show
to the public behind glass.
The main one is much larger, and has all the non lego stuff as well , like
metalwork, animatronics, etc
