Re: 6 new bulk packs at S@H —Larry Pieniazek
(...) You're serious? As I understand it, Jake and other folks went to a lot of trouble to get this to happen for the community, and you'd like people not to buy them? Well that's certainly one option, I guess, but it's not one I think is (...) (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: 6 new bulk packs at S@H —Gregory Muri
Yes Larry, I am absolutely serious. Everyone has to take the color change situation in their own way. For me personally, Lego corporate can take the old color bulk packs and cram them.........well, you get the idea. My support for Lego, as a (...)         Re: 6 new bulk packs at S@H —J. Spencer Rezkalla
(...) It sounds to me that they are going out of their way on this to help AFOLs specifically. And that is significant. (...) Would you like to present your business case for this? Got the financials to back you up? I still don't understand this (...) (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: 6 new bulk packs at S@H —Gregory Muri
(...) You are certainly entitled to see it this way, I just don't agree with you. As I said, I completely believe this is a desperation attempt not to offend any more AFOL's than they already have. Heck, how many parents buy their kids 20K worth of (...)          Re: 6 new bulk packs at S@H —J. Spencer Rezkalla
(...) That is entirely possible. As Jake has indicated, the existance of AFOLs is still relatively unknown in some corners of the company. However, even if our true impact to the business was well known and understood within Lego - would this type (...) (20 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: 6 new bulk packs at S@H —Jeff Findley
(...) Unfortunately, LEGO doesn't have decent competition. We all know how terrible "LEGO Compatable" blocks really are. If they had real competition (like Coke had when they came out with New Coke), customers really could vote with their wallet by (...)         Re: 6 new bulk packs at S@H —Christopher Wiggenhorn
(...) <snip> Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than I can step in here if necessary, but I seem to recall that changing Coke made consumers realize how much they treasured it. After introducing Classic Coke, I think they more than made up for the (...) (20 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: 6 new bulk packs at S@H —Jeff Findley
(...) While this may be true, the "loyal" customers left Coke only because there were alternatives that wern't as vile as New Coke. Pepsi did quite well after New Coke came out. Does this mean that we're all going to switch to Megablocks over the (...) (20 years ago, 23-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.market.shopping)
