I think you may be misunderstanding this. Troy asked what a 2556 was worth -
this is not part of the allegedly overpriced Shell pack [s1252-6]. Larry stated
that he had paid $20 for his... which is not too far away from the Bricklink
average of $26.39 [which is still pretty good value]:

The allegedly overpriced Shell pack issue is a supply and demand thing. TLC are
free to ask whatever they want for any set [even ZNAP!], and it is up to us to
decide what it is worth to us. Don't forget, TLC is here to make money... and
we are here to help them do that[1]. ;)
If they get the price on this one set wrong, I expect I will pick it up on
special or buy it at +50% on bricklink when the stock runs out on S@H!

[1] Well I am not, as the Shell pack is not for sale in the EU. If it were, I
expect it would be at an inflated price.

Because we had so many requests for these sets, we went out of our way to (...) (22 years ago, 16-Oct-02, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.market.shopping)
