Re: How to properly call "the Birck" was Re: Can some do this or tell me of who is this?

Try explaining the proper usage of the LEGO trademark to my 21 month old daughter. My daughter stands next to my train table, points up and chants "daydohs? daydohs?" over and over. And running the train really gets her excited. She now has her own (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jul-02, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.general)

(...) I think LEGO has become much like Kleenex and Coke in usage. While the *correct* way to ask for a soft piece of paper to wipe my nose is "Hand me a tissue" , some may say "Pass me a Kleenex." As such, the plural to LEGO would be LEGOs (note (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jul-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

(...) Since LEGO is a brand name, the proper way to describe the brick would be to call them "a LEGO brick" or "many LEGO bricks" Adrian -- www.brickfrenzy.com (22 years ago, 18-Jul-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Absurd price differences at LEGO Direct

It may be cheap to own a house in SOME places in the US, but others are insane. In my area, unless I'm willing to deal with stray bullets occasionally, the cheapest I will find a 2BR house that doesn't need a TON of work is over $400K, and nearing (...)   Re: Absurd price differences at LEGO Direct

(...) The issue might have to do with taxes. There are no VAT or in most cases sales taxes (for mail order purchases) in the US. I also think corporate income tax is lower.   Absurd price differences at LEGO Direct

In europe (Netherlands) the new Spybotics are listed EUR 90, which equals over USD 90. In the US this same product in the same shop is listed USD 60. A difference of USD 30, one-third of the price! So in effect, since shop.lego.com only allows (...) (22 years ago, 17-Jul-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Question about set 7143 Jedi Starfighter.

(...) To be fair to LEGO, the astromech does not have a body but is actually hardwired into the starfighter. (URL) I am glad you like it for what it is.   Re: Question about set 7143 Jedi Starfighter.

Well, the reason that the body was never included is that they wanted to remain accurate to the movie. After I saw this set, I saw the movie for a second time and looked at his starfigher. The R4 unit's head was all that there was. It was not like (...) (22 years ago, 17-Jul-02, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.starwars)

Question about set 7143 Jedi Starfighter.

I have just purchased this set, and I am curious to know why TLG did not include a suitable body piece for the R4 astromech droid dome piece included in this set.
