Re: Why the absence of LD in their own newsgroup?

I think it is precisly these types of posts that keep them away. Many people post expecting answers *right now*, often on things they may not be able to respond to. I think everyone needs to give them some breathing room. I also think they should be (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jun-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: LEGO - Small shop horror story

quite shocking considering how liberal and helpful their S@H Customer Service is. why the same practice and consideration isn't true for their retail shops is beyond me. of course this could be an isolated case. have you tried calling back and (...)   Re: Lego, LD Sell these bricks! (was: Re: Mottled Bricks and Plates!)

(...) Whereas jelly beans tend to be eaten shortly, LEGO bricks last a long time. I can see that LEGO don't want the market to be filled with discoloured LEGO bricks. It cannot be good for their reputation if images of discoloured bricks becomes (...) (22 years ago, 10-Jun-02, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Lego, LD Sell these bricks! (was: Re: Mottled Bricks and Plates!)

(...) The Jelly Belly factory in our area puts their malformed jelly beans in 1 lb. bags and sells them as "Belly Flops" in their factory store-- for about half price! They taste just as good only you can't choose the flavors-- so all the bags (...) (22 years ago, 9-Jun-02, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Lego, LD Sell these bricks! (was: Re: Mottled Bricks and Plates!)

(...) This would be a great item for LD's auctions. If they had ten lots, each one pound of swirled elements, I bet they could fetch pretty good money...maybe mine. Chris (22 years ago, 9-Jun-02, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Lego, LD Sell these bricks! (was: Re: Mottled Bricks and Plates!)

(...) Supply and demand? If people are interested in buying them, and there are few items available, it's only natural to see a high price point. It's like stamp of coin collection, I suppose. Stamps and coins which are produced with some kind of (...) (22 years ago, 9-Jun-02, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Lego, LD Sell these bricks! (was: Re: Mottled Bricks and Plates!)

Why on earth are you asking them to sell them for such INSANE prices? It's not as if regular bricks are cheap through bulk. You do realize those mottled bricks are "trash" as far as Lego is concerned, right? They either throw them out or grind them (...) (22 years ago, 9-Jun-02, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.lego.direct)

Lego, LD Sell these bricks! (was: Re: Mottled Bricks and Plates!)

Dear Lego and LD, These are the neatest pieces. I have heard of them many times but necer seen them until now, and man, how cool! I could foresee pack of 25 random mottled bricks for sale as a nostalgia pack, maybe $10. Other neat ways of selling (...)   Re: Why the absence of LD in their own newsgroup?

All I really have to add here (since the initial thread isn't my place to answer) is a reply to the notion that I run a site for kids - last time I checked FBTB viewership was 3/4 adult with an average age of 24. We do have quite a few kids in the (...) (22 years ago, 8-Jun-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)
