I uploaded two models last night. They’ve been moderated. They are marked
in the “My Models” area as entries for the 2nd week’s contest. But they
have not appeared anywhere in the competition gallery, even though voting

It appears this issue has not been dealt with. Now is the beginning of Week
3, and I’m feeling the same pain. It does look like your models did get added
eventually, Sean, so there’s hope for mine. But there’s definitely a
penalty for those who submit later than Thursday or so. I’m disappointed this
isn’t as fair as I’d hoped it would be.
I submitted mine last Friday evening, since I wanted to make sure there was
enough time to get moderated and in the competition. The designs online now
have not changed since last Thursday. Mine is also showing as moderated for
competition 3 and ready to go.
Grr. Maybe they’ll show up tomorrow. But since there’s a built-in “top model”
scheme, it’s unlikely that johnny-come-lately additions will be able to catch
up. Maybe I’m whining for no reason, but it’s frustrating to work hard on
something and then be penalized for no apparent reason.

I’m in the same position - Week 3’s entry has been moderated, but it doesn’t show up in the gallery. Oddly, it’s
status reads “INSPIRATION Model”. I don’t know if this has anything to do with
it not showing up.
This week’s contest is the reverse of the last two. In past weeks, there has
been an early entry penalty: entries which were moderated first would be on the
last gallery page (5 or 6 pages deep) on Monday, making it harder for them to
collect votes. But this week, since nothing has been added since Thursday, the
early entries are still up front. And it’s a good bet that the winner will be
one of the entries that was on the front page today.
It’s a shame that winning the contest seems to be based on good timing as much
as building skill. They could have negated this problem by making the front page
display 5 or 6 random entries in both categories instead of the top
vote-getters. Why they didn’t is anyone’s guess.

| (...) Probably because it's as much a learning experience for them as it is for the entrants. (Almost) Every dynamic website such as this has "growing pains" when it is first set up.
