Next, why cant you hire some programmers that are more flexible? This
Windows-only nonsense is silly. This is not the best, so this is not good
enough.

This question gets asked a lot, but the answer is easy. Macs have 1% (pick
your own number, whatever it is, its under 10%) of the market. Suppose it
only takes 25% more budget to clone a Mac version of the PC product (it may
not be that cheap, because typically Mac programmer resources come in
multiples of whole bodies because there are not a lot of switch hitters out
there). Nobody wants to make only 1% more for spending 25% more - thats a
really poor return on investment compared to spending that same 25% on
another new PC product that also sells to the 99% part of the market. About
the only mitigating factor is that you can have the luxury of only porting
hits to the Mac market, but that only casts in concrete that the Mac versions
would come later than the PC versions.

whose first 7 personal computers were Macs but finally baled because Apple
wanted $1200 to repair a 2 year old motherboard while PC users could by
newer/faster/more powerful motherboards for $200

i dunno... can you really say that the mac market is less than 10%? that might
have been true a few years ago, but apple is steadily gaining marketshare; one
would only have to look at the number of apple retail stores opening up at a
mall near you. that 90% or greater number that keeps getting tossed around
certainly may be true for BUSINESS computers, but apple has always had a good
portion of the educational market. that in itself should be reason enough to
support software on that platform since this product, for all its intents and
purposes, is for kids.
personally, i think its ludicrous that LEGO has yet to support the Mac
platform.
