I think people know that there are humans in there somewhere. :-)
I start worry if do not receive a reply or acknowledgement within a
week.
Maybe if the email is not processed within a few days you could send
acknowledgement thanking the writer, and explaining that the mail has
been received safely and that an admin will process it soon.
