I disagree with Kecia.  I have the new sets, and while they may seem like
they are part of the modular design, there are many "topper" modules.   Most
aren't able to have other sets stacked ot top of them, only able to "sit" on
other modules.  ie:what was supposed to be a first floor bathroom in set
4730 can only sit on top of other sets, ¡duh! not very first floor.   Same
with Dumbledore's office, 4735 Slytherin (which I seem to recall is in a
first basement), and 4731 Dobby's release.  With other modules from last
year that were "topper" modules, it makes for too many top floors and not
enough supporting floors.  I rebuilt 4706 The Forbidden Corridor from last
years line to be a proper, albiet "two-high" module, and I'm planning on
fleshing out 4735 Slytherin and 4731 Dobby's release to be a proper modules,
and totally rebuilding the bathroom from 4730 Chamber of secrets and
synthisizing it with some 4712 Troll on the Loose bathroom sets.

(...) In England, and in fact most places outside the USA, "first floor" is not the ground floor, but the one above. Could this explain the problem? --Bill (22 years ago, 27-Sep-02, to lugnet.harrypotter)

I think you are supposed to take the sand green roof pieces off, and then you find that they stack nicely. Of course, i don't own any of them, but I can see it in the pictures rather clearly. -Alfred (...) (22 years ago, 27-Sep-02, to lugnet.harrypotter)

  new set connectability?

The new Harry Potter sets are not yet available in my area, but I like the look of what I've seen so far from the few pictures that have been made available. My question is this: I thought I saw on one of the advertisements the statement, Return to (...) (22 years ago, 25-Sep-02, to lugnet.harrypotter)
