    LEGO RCX Skydivers —Ian Sinclair

Wouldn't it be very cool to design and build LEGO Mindstorms Skydivers! These skydivers (...) (25 years ago, 5-Nov-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.robotics)

I'm not sure which is scarier... the concept of dropping an RCX or the fact that you would have to "test" the design. I'd really be interested in seeing details of your results, but only if you succeed. hugging my RCX, :?) bishop Ian Sinclair wrote (...)          Re: LEGO RCX Skydivers —Pete Hardie
(...) I dunno. Some coworkers and I were investigating home-made helium blimps for a homegrown robotic dirigible race competition, and the amount of helium required to hold up a few ounces was staggering. (25 years ago, 8-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: LEGO RCX Skydivers —Robert Munafo
Either my calculations are wrong, or you have a different concept of what is a "staggering" amount of helium. Here are my calculations: Each gram-mole of gas at STP [1] takes up 22.41 liters (cubic decimeters) of space. The weight of a mole of air (...) (25 years ago, 9-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)
