We just got the Fall 1999 DK Family Learning catalog (from
Dorling-Kindersley, of course).  There are several LEGO books, most of
which have been mentioned.  But I think there is one brand-new one.  Or
maybe I haven't been paying close enough attention.  Anyway, here's the
info:

_The Ultimate LEGO Book_ ISBN:0-7894-4691-X
This one looks amazing!  Except for the Rock Raiders shown front-and-center
on the cover.  But the rest of it looks great.  I'm sure it will make a
wonderful companion to _The World of LEGO Toys_.

LEGO Modelers
_Amazing Animals_        ISBN:0-7894-4775-4
_Fabulous Figures_       ISBN:0-7894-4777-0

These are sub-billed as "15 figures from 100 bricks".  They appear to be
idea/instruction books.  No mention of including pieces, so I assume they
don't.

LEGO Interactive Puzzle Books:
_The Lost Temple_        ISBN:0-7894-4706-I (-1?)
_Rock Raiders_           ISBN:0-7894-4707-X
_Castle Mystery_         ISBN:0-7894-3728-7
_The Curse of the Mummy_ ISBN:0-7894-3729-5
_Insectoid Invasion_     ISBN:0-7894-3730-9

LEGO Action Maze Books:
_Gold Robber_            ISBN:0-7894-3652-3
_Jewel Thief_            ISBN:0-7894-3653-1
_Spy Catcher_            ISBN:0-7894-3654-X
_Treasure Smuggler_      ISBN:0-7894-3655-8

We don't have *any* of these books, I'm just reporting what's listed in the
catalog.  Nice two-page spread, listed right behind the Star Wars spread,
in the "Children's Frontlist".

(...) This IS a nice book. A bit of a putup job for the latest lines, and for the models you'll see in miniland. Rubs my nose in piece unavailability to the unwashed public a bit, but I'm getting used to that. :-) Light on details of manufacturing, (...) (25 years ago, 6-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

(...) I picked this one up at Legoland Windsor (1). It's by DK, the same folks who gave us the "Incredible Cross-Sections" Star Wars books, among other things. It's not quite up to par with other DK books I've seen, but it is a good buy in and of (...) (25 years ago, 21-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)
