Re: Straight LEGO Country Flags of 70's and 80's

I've made a small error in my pervious post: In the last paragraph, please substitute "the UK branch of the firm operated under the name Lever Brothers up until 1990" with "the US branch of the firm ..." (18 years ago, 6-Feb-07, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Straight LEGO Country Flags of 70's and 80's

(...) I had a very slight hunch, so to be sure, I've consulted "backoffice"-wise with Lowlug. They've confirmed that the Dutch version of the set was a promo for the brand Unox, part of the Unilever company. This also explains why the Dutch version (...)   The Rare Canadian LEGO Flag

Someone on Bricklink posted a question about the Canadian wave (embossed) and straight (stickered) flags. So I thought I would repost it here. Gary Istok ___...___ The Canadian is the rarest of the straight and wavy country flags. So far as I can (...) (18 years ago, 6-Feb-07, to lugnet.general)

  Lugnet census

Sorry if this has been done before, but maybe we could have a census of the members in Lugnet. Please give your age, country of residence & gender (only if you want to). Thanks for sharing! :-) (18 years ago, 6-Feb-07, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Event Report: LEGOPalooza, Morrhead Plaetarium, Chapel Hill, NC

(...) Joe this is a genius of an idea. This sounds like a great way to get out into the community with benefits to both you and the planetarium. Also, it seems simple to organize and achieve good results. I would like to know some more details. How (...) (18 years ago, 6-Feb-07, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Rarest LEGO Parts from the 1950's

(...) Hi Gary, I think this (and all your other recent similar posts) would be excellent additions to your "History of LEGO" page (URL) not sure who maintains that page, but it would be good if it had links to all these posts. It would also be good (...) (18 years ago, 5-Feb-07, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Straight LEGO Country Flags of 70's and 80's

(...) Manfred, My mistake, I meant to say "1592", and instead said "1589" (the 1978 Weetabix UK set). So let me ask again (correctly), were there specific companies that promoted the British (1980) and Dutch (1983) #1592 set? Thanks, Gary Istok (18 years ago, 5-Feb-07, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Rarest LEGO Parts from the 1950's

Most LEGO parts of the 1950's are relatively obscure for modern LEGO collectors. During the first half of the 1950's LEGO was only sold in Denmark (1949), Sweden (for a short time in 1950, but reintroduced in 1955), and Norway (1953). Lego started (...) (18 years ago, 5-Feb-07, to lugnet.general)

Re: Straight LEGO Country Flags of 70's and 80's

I can tell because the sticker sheet has the colors around the edges where the stickers used to be (except for the Japanese sticker, which has a white background and just (...)   Event Report: LEGOPalooza, Morrhead Plaetarium, Chapel Hill, NC

Hi all, as announced previously, NCLUG was the host of LEGOPalooza this weekend at Morehead Planetarium. This year, the event was expanded to 2 days, and was earlier in the year compared to previous paloozas. This time, we had a Star Wars display (...)   Re: Straight LEGO Country Flags of 70's and 80's

Re: Straight LEGO Country Flags of 70's and 80's

(...) Thanks Manfred! Unfortunately the LEGO CD Chapter 12 - Promotional Sets only went to 1982. This set is a 1983 set in the Netherlands, but now that I look at my notes, it was a 1980 set in Britain, and should have been included. By the way the (...)
