OK, I figured this one out. To use more than one set of a particular
palette, right click on the programs task button and go to preferences and
make sure use starter sets is unchecked. Then, once back in ldd, you can
click on any of the starter sets any number of times to get multiple copies
of the set, or to combine different starter set palettes.

Thanks. In the Mac version, you do this via the Preferences menu (the only
non-system menu) within LDD.
It also appears that once youve used this trick to add multiple bricksets to
your active list, you can then turn use starter sets back on. Im still a
little fuzzy on what this accomplished, but it seems to be that it showed me
only the available colors for those parts, instead of letting me pick any old
color.
Best,
Joe
