But they aren't making them.  At least, not the ones you linked to on BL.  Note the
one on Brickshelf is placed into a palmtree base, whereas the older ones had their
own bases.

The one on Brickshelf is most likely handmade.  I'd believe that, considering the
original Miniland at LLC had granular ABS used in the landscaping here and there.

On my last trip to Legoland CA I spotted some unusual
granule bushes in the miniland New Orleans section.

These don't appear to be standard Lego parts,
and I thought that miniland models were all made out of standard parts.

Here is a link to my Brickshelf folder with the pics:

In case the size isn't apparent in the pics,
the granule part is about 1/2 inch high.

LEGO used to make these kinds of trees and bushes decades ago.  Check out:¬

Since they haven't been in any sets for quite some time, and they were never all
that abundant to begin with, those granular types of trees are pretty hard to
come by these days.  I had no idea that LEGO was still making them for use in
their parks.  Since they can still manufacture them, I sure do wish they'd start
selling them.¬ ¬¬ David "Fuzzy" Gregory
