I think having a ground floor level could be quite neat. I like the second
version better. Keep the spacing the same.
I do wonder about the little courtyards that could be formed by a block of 4
moonbases all with ground floor cooridors. The courtyard would quite
possibly be inaccesable. Except this is space, so one could jet pack in or
something. Probably not an issue.

Actually now that you say that I kind of like the idea of courtyards if
they happened. And remember the figs can always go in and out another
door or airlock.

Or they could simply jump out, depending on which moon they happen to be on.
Low gravity and all.
