Well it looks like (based on the NYC Toy Fair) that TLG is celebrating 50 years of the "Lego System of Play". When if first came out in 1955 "Lego System of Play" was "Lego system i leg" in Danish. 1955 also happens to be the first year that Lego (...) (19 years ago, 22-Feb-05, to lugnet.general)

(...) OK Mark, now I'm stumped.... what parts did you consider juniorised? The 2x4 half circle macaroni bricks? Or? I missed 3 new Lego elements in my 1955 tally. (...) Well, the obvious one is the 8 different 1:87 metal wheeled trucks. Each one piece. But at a more subtle level - the roadsigns and garage have similar single-use pieces now. But the overall balance of Lego parts now is much more multi-use. (19 years ago, 26-Feb-05, to lugnet.general)
