OK, I won't be posting this in any other newsgroups.....
Here is how the Insurance Price List portion of my book will look like (pending
suggestions by AFOLs):
The examples I will use are #396 Thatcher Perkins Model Set (1976-77), the
Yellow Castle set #375/#6075 (1978-82), and 2x10 bricks spare parts pack #216
(1957-65) in the 5 conditions used by the antique toy collectibles market.

Note: the 1957-65 sets/parts packs have a very complex history. Unlike sets
today where only one set covers all locations, and unlike the 70's and 80's
where you had one set # for USA and another for Europe/Canada (like the yellow
castle), the 50's and 60's had the same set # for the duration, but kept
changing the box design, or in the case of parts packs, the parts counts
changed, and were different from country to country (although continental Europe
seemed to stay uniform).
As complex as the #216 2x10 bricks appear, the #214 classic windows/doors
designation is by far the most complex set/pack number Lego ever created. There
are approximately 72 different boxes under the #214 and (#214 1-10) designation
(20 in USA, 20 in Canada, 20 in Britain, and 12 in continental Europe (2 of
which are the huge retailer windows/doors boxes). Now you know why the 1957-65
era is so mysterious.
