Jeff, perhaps the grey color change is due to the fact the outfits are
different in the new movie because of the direction of Alfonso, the new
director. Here’s a photo of Harry (aka Daniel Radcliffe):

just wanted Harry to have a new uniform look with his new skin color. Either
