(...) I think LEGO QUATRO is a great idea! Smaller than PRIMO, yet bigger than DUPLO. And hopefully much more compatible with SYSTEM than PRIMO is. From the pictures, it looks like this is 4x the scale of LEGO SYSTEM (hence the "quat-") and 2x the (...) (21 years ago, 2-Feb-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.duplo)

(...) maybe some guy at TLG are portuguese. DUPLO means "double" QUATRO means "four (4)" but PRIMO means "cousin" :) i think PRIMO means "first" in italian LBaixinho (21 years ago, 3-Feb-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.duplo)

(...) I thought the use of those prefixes goes waaayyy back to earlier times...like maybe latin? The main source of most of the romance languages? DU --- double/two QUAT - Four primo--perhaps coming from "prime" meaning "first"?? (or some (...) (21 years ago, 5-Feb-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.duplo)
