LEGO > SYSTEM > Town > The Times —Dave Lovelace
Hello! After four years of membership to LUGNET, I have had very little to post in the way of creative, er...creativity. I have noticed that LUGNET postings which get spotlighted and get most feedback are those posts which include, obviously, a (...) (21 years ago, 6-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town) !!

Re: LEGO > SYSTEM > Town > The Times —Larry Pieniazek
Lots of snippage, some commentary interspersed but first... this post got my spotlight, it's an awesome post taken in total. But my comments might read like criticism, sorry about that! It's because I snipped a lot away. (...) Nonsense. Not trying (...) (21 years ago, 6-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town, lugnet.org.us.nelug)

(...) Yeah, we just had our first lunch meeting in Westfield MA. I think that's straight up Rt 10/202 from you. Get on the NELUG mailing list. (URL) folks from Boston talk way too much, but every once in a while an opportunity pops up for us. I'm (...) (21 years ago, 6-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town, lugnet.org.us.nelug)

(...) Hello to you, too! I snipped your whole message, just because it's easier this way. If you're reading *this* message and haven't read Dave's, go do that now! I'll wait... ;-) I love this idea! As a self-described "frustrated architect" I'd (...) (21 years ago, 6-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: LEGO > SYSTEM > Town > The Times —Larry Pieniazek
(...) So much for THAT theory... Number one post on LUGNET right now (if you look at top rated posts this way: www.lugnet.com) is this one, with 5 spotlights and one highlight, and sure to get more as more people see it. :-) ++Lar (21 years ago, 6-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town)

Re: LEGO > SYSTEM > Town > The Times —Dave Lovelace
(...) Well pick my nose and call me a pinecone (??)! I'm stunned! While I have everyone's attention, how fun would it be to make a LUGNET Idea Book? Script out a Bill 'n Mary story, figure out what types of events, buildings, cars, time machines, (...) (21 years ago, 6-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town) !

Re: LEGO > SYSTEM > Town > The Times —Erik Olson
I was amazed the other night that there are details in the Bill and Mary story I never saw before. Granted I looked most at the castle bits, and the wheel falling off scene, but.. There appears to be an arsonist in their garage. Take a look. It's (...) (21 years ago, 7-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town)

Re: LEGO > SYSTEM > Town > The Times —Jeff Findley
In the interest of space, I too have removed all of the original article. My one comment to add is to "Bring Bill and Mary back!". I've got fond memories of the "Bill and Mary Idea Book" and the online Bill and Mary World Tour. Jeff (21 years ago, 6-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town)

Re: LEGO > SYSTEM > Town > The Times —Brendan Powell Smith
Hi, Dave. (...) These MOCs sound really cool, but I keep clicking on the descriptions and the links don't seem to work! What gives? Surely the top story on LUGNET couldn't be a post about hypothetical MOCs that don't really exist! I'll just keep (...) (21 years ago, 6-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town)

Re: LEGO > SYSTEM > Town > The Times —Dave Lovelace
(...) Right, right, right....I got it already! The set numbers being years *MIGHT* be a bit confusing. People would definitely associate them with the year these things are actually happening. I was instead thinking any set with a #197x number would (...) (21 years ago, 7-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town)

Re: LEGO > SYSTEM > Town > The Times —Christian Allred
Neat idea, one thing though... (...) This should really be set #1969, and rather than a computer shop it ought to be a bunch of minifigs in lab coats (over UCLA T-shirts or something) and those Clark Kent black-rimmed glasses, wearing pocket (...)      (...) Okay, here's my contribution. I'm not sure how many pieces I used, and I tossed it together pretty quickly tonight, so it could probably use some refinement. I really like the record store idea, so I ran with it. (URL) imagine all of the (...) (21 years ago, 7-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town)

Love it! Can I pre-order #1951 & #1952 to go with the cool Ford Anglia I got in the Privet Drive HP set? Thanks for a great premise. Ted (21 years ago, 7-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town)
