Frank & All,

In your own personal file this is stuff is easier to reflect. You might do
something like:

Set#  Owned  Theme  Pieces  Figs
--------------------------------
6569  1      Polar  0       0
6578  1      Polar  21      1
6586  1      Polar  55      1

Which denotes that you *own* a combo set, but won't go towards a piece/fig
tally.

This is what I do in my set inventory, since I want a good estimate of
the number of pieces in my collection.

I see.

Of course, honestly, it wouldn't
actually matter which way I do it since eBay and BrickLink purchases are
not inventoried, and thus my collection is significantly larger than the
set inventory will ever indicate.

Ah, Indeed. I remember the pictures you posted when you moved from the east
coast out to the west coast (I don't remember details off hand, I have
enough trouble keeping track of myself!) and all the stuff you had. : )

I have a good handle on my Bricklink / Brickbay purchases, I either kept the
invoice, or printed it out, and I have average prices, etc. I have a
separate sheet tracking those. My excessive purchases of Futuron minifigs
have seriously swayed numbers into the minifig direction. : ) I am also
keeping track of drafts, and some random collections I do get from time to
time, but I am sure my collection counts are off track with things I got
before I started tracking all this stuff! but I try to get it as accurate as
possible.

Sincerely,
Scott S.
