I had to show restraint -- my wife was a the park with me and made enough
fuss as it was when I kept returning to the hotel room with carrier bags
full of the stuff.
Also US$60 is rather expensive. In the UK LEGO shops it works out at nearer
$40-45/Kg, so I'm hanging on for the Windsor shop to be fully loaded before
really splashing out.
The clothes did have to go in the 'carry on', however...
The sale of bulk by volume vs by weight raises some interesting questions
about which parts can be obtained cheapest by which method. I haven't done
any tests, but I suspect smaller parts are cheaper by volume whereas 2x10
bricks, for example, would be cheaper by weight due to a lower density.
OTOH, flower stalks and other items made of the same, lighter, plastic are
probably cheaper by weight.
A problem of buying by volume is that it takes skill and time to fill the
tubs so that every nook and cranny has been filled to maximise piece count,
a problem not present when filling bags.
