Very true.  This is one of the reasons that Joel Kuester left, I believe-
the 'hey that's cool' posts.

It's always great to see other projects besides the mainstream
star wars and trekkie continguincy. Not at all that I dislike
it, however, I've seen few, if any Final Fantasy of good old
fashioned Metal Gear projects immortalized in lego, which is
a shame. Anyway, I definitely like your highwind, and look
forward to any other interesting renditions in the future.
(has anyone done any Xenogears mechs?)

However, yes, my agreements with the MOC factor. I've
shown a few of my MOCs over the past (only about three,
I think...) with somewhat discouraging results. Not that
it got me down or anything (my render crashed, had a
little hiatus over the summer, worked on my novella,
school, etc.)

You can basically sum it down to one little
factor called 'Hierarchy'. It's deftly inevitable for
any aspect of society, since any group or community
will eventually exhibit these qualities. The best thing
to do, is to take pride in your creations, work on new
ideas, and show them off as often as possible. Who
knows, after several postings, people will eventually
recognize you for your creations, and you'll get your
feedback. If feedback isn't enough, you can always
check your folder hits on brickshelf, and if the
numbers are high, that probably means you're getting
plenty of views, which is obviously a good thing.

In short, keep at it and never give up hope!

You're stuff is great, by the way- especially the Highwind and the Space
Moose- but this is no place for model feedback.

I stopped posting feedback myself because my
replies just got ignored in favor of the great high .spacers, who make
wonderful creations, but seem to have no time to give the occasional "that's
cool, but have you tried doing this?" post. every very acitve group suffers
from this exact same phenomenon. the really skilled folks seem to only give
feedback on the creations of the other really skilled folks, and the rest of
us just sort of languish down here in the darkness.

However, as productive members of the community, we can
take this problem into hand and try to post as much
feedback as possible. I think taking a minute or two
to take a look and analyze someone's model, highlight
interests and concerns, constitutes the beauty of
lugnet.

I have noticed this ALOT.  Not to name any names... but some of the truley
phenomenal builders just sort of 'hang out' together, responding mainly only
to each other's MOCs.  They seem to build a mystique around themselves, and
the few times they do post they get a tremendous amount of responses, just
because they are who they are, and not necessarily because of the actual post.

Hmm...see the aforementioned remark.

I find this a bit annoying... but after all, some builders (*cough cough*
Gil Shaw) leave a large amount of good feedback... but still, one or two is
not enough.

You know, I'm starting to think I don't leave enough
feedback. In fact, right now, I'm going to pledge to
amend my ways and make a wholehearted attempt to take
a few minutes out of my schedule to review and highlight
other community member's models. I ask anyone else on
lugnet to do the same. It only takes a few minutes or
so, and the overall effect will definitely last much
longer. (Imaging someone's delight when they read a
feedback comment pointing out the genius of a new
wing design or building technique.)

the Trundeller is just awesome!  But when I came around it a day and 1/2
later, it had no responses!  NONE!  And now I am the only respondant to this
MOC.

I'm sure that if Aaron was somebody else more well known he would get much
more feedback.

Looks pretty tight, actually...Technic figure scaled
creations are all too rare these days...unless you're
checking technic, of course. The submersible is pretty
cool, as well. 6 x 6 dome parts always add a nice
highlight to any model.
