Above ca. 90°C (when they began to get weak) the elements looked more shiny.
Like some Lego elements do it nowadays. (for e.g. this one in yellow looks
always a little transparent + shiny http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/6583 ).

Agree - the do in fact. But I have no idea how they would look like when put
into boiling water. Possibly the same?
I was astonished by the CA brick (the ones Lego produced before 1963). Those
get wharped even in handwarm water, but ths brick survived even 90°C better
than a modern one made by ABS.

P.s.: I just added some english text into the gallery. I fear I made a mistake
by adding that directly to the picture name (the thumbnails look horrible with
that amount of text now) and for sure I have made lots of language mistakes,
because I had to hurry... I will try to fix that later....
