  Brickshelf problems...

Hi! I noticed that brickshelf has lately changed.... Seems like it remembers when I last logged on (?)? This has caused me the following problems: Sometimes when logging in it resets my computer, that is, windows dies and I get a black screen. (...) (22 years ago, 26-Jan-02, to lugnet.general)

(...) I (...) not. I get this as well, I wonder where the problem is on Brickshelf, that I tend to avoid the site if I can... it only happens to me if I use IE, Netscape works fine... -- Mike Edwards Lugnet Member #151 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - (...) (...) Sonnich, Things relating to Brickbay should be posted to (URL) .market.brickshops (22 years ago, 26-Jan-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.brickshops)

(...) you are right, but he was referring to Brickshelf, and not BrickBay!!! Benjamin Medinets (22 years ago, 26-Jan-02, to lugnet.market.brickshops)

  Re: Brickshelf problems...

(...) I didn't have these problems, however I noticed that the brickshelf posting was modified, and compartmentalized in various categories...that isn't too bad. Benjamin Medinets (22 years ago, 26-Jan-02, to lugnet.general)

(...) Ya, that rocks. Hopefully Kevin will put in a mechanism to allow categorizing of existing folders too (if he hasn't already, I wasn't able to tell) (22 years ago, 26-Jan-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.publish)

  Re: Brickshelf problems...

(...) It looks like every time you add files to a folder, you have the opportunity to select new categories. So at a minimum, one could just upload one new file to each folder you want to add categories to. Of course that will annoy someone by (...)   Re: Still Brickshelf problems

I've been running my yap about log in problems over on Brickshelf for a while. (URL) seems several people can't get logged in and stay logged in if they are using more than 1 computer. (...) (22 years ago, 27-Jan-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Still Brickshelf problems

That sounds pretty much my problem. When using a modem it usually works (but the $$$ runs when uploading), but when using ADSL I usually have these problems, and the ADSL is separated to another computer by a proxxy server on the ADSL-connected (...)   Re: Brickshelf problems...

(...) This is the first report I have had of the site actually crashing people's browser/machine. Brickshelf uses extremely simple html that shouldn't be too challenging for any browser. What browser version and OS version are you using? Also, I (...) (22 years ago, 28-Jan-02, to lugnet.general)

While the cookies themselves no longer expire, they are still invalid after a fixed time (~3 hours of inactivity). nonetheless, it is still a good idea to use the logout feature :).   Re: Brickshelf problems...

(...) Formerly you needed to confine your activities to one browser window on one machine, you could not have multiple windows open. Has this been lifted? That would be nifty, as it often is nice to have another window open to check on results and (...) (22 years ago, 28-Jan-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Brickshelf problems...

(...) I have not seen this, except with different browsers on the same machine. If you are logged in with one instance of a browser, and start another instance (new browser window), both can work simultaneously. If you are logged in with netscape (...) (22 years ago, 28-Jan-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Brickshelf problems...

(...) Last time you and I spoke face to face (or at least email to email, I forget) about this topic you told me that if one were doing an upload one could not have ANY other windows to Brickshelf(tm) open (even if launched via cntl-n from the same (...)   Re: Brickshelf problems...

(...) I have also just tested everything with the latest IE 6.0. The choice of browser does not appear to be a factor. There does seem to be a problem with some people not accepting/storing the login cookie (check your OS/browser cookie options!) or (...) (22 years ago, 28-Jan-02, to lugnet.general)
